About Us

Idyllically set within the South Downs National Park , an ideal watering hole for walkers ,in the village of Hambledon (best known as the cradle of cricket), this 16th-century oak-beamed pub is most definitely the hub of the village. There is a great atmosphere, and once a month on Sunday afternoons you are likely to hear the soothing tones of live jazz drifting out from the bar area.

Our daily menu includes Steak and Kidney Pie, hand cut chips, Combo's ( to share or individual), Nachos, Fish, Salads, pasta dishes, Ploughman's and sandwiches. Our Specials Board changes daily but usually includes Steaks, pies, fresh fish, & pasta dishes . We also offer vegetarian & gluten free options.

We have a quiz night on Wednesday, proper fish and chips, to take away or eat in on Tuesday's, a new curry is made each Wednesday and live music twice a month; A pub that is as pubs should be.

From Thursday onwards, it's best to book.
